The Firʿawns of Today Will Drown Tomorrow
Victory isn’t delayed, it’s prepared. Just as Allāh split the sea for Mūsā, He will open a path for this Ummah
On the day of ‘Āshūrā, we remember one of the greatest moments of divine intervention in human history.
Mūsā (ʿalayhi as-salām), the Prophet of Allāh, stood at the edge of the Sea.
Behind him, an army, armed and bloodthirsty.
Before him, a sea, vast and impassable.
Around him, a terrified people, doubting, trembling, fearing that this was the end. They said:
“Indeed, we are overtaken!” (Qur’ān 26:61)
But not Mūsā (ʿalayhi as-salām). His heart did not waver. His eyes did not flinch.
“He said: No! Indeed, my Lord is with me. He will guide me.”
(Qur’ān 26:62)
That’s when Allāh commanded: “Strike the sea with your staff.” (Qur’ān 26:63)
And in an instant, the sea split, towering walls of water rose, and a path of salvation appeared where no human eye could imagine one.
This Is the Sunnah of Allāh
This isn’t just a story. This is a divine pattern, a promise, a Sunnah [way] of Allāh.
When oppression reaches its peak…
When believers are squeezed from every direction…
When all exits are sealed and hope seems lost…
That is often the moment Allāh opens the sea. Allāh says,
“...Until when the Messengers gave up hope and thought they were denied, there came to them Our help...” (Qur’ān 12:110)
Victory is never late. It’s not random. It’s not emotional. It is decreed by the Wisdom of Allāh, measured, purposeful, and given to whom He wills.
The Fir‘awns of Today
Look around today. The Ummah bleeds, from Gaza to Sudan, from Rohingya to Kashmīr.
Our enemies drop bombs on our children and smile for cameras. They destroy homes, steal land, and slaughter the innocent and the world calls it “self-defense.”
We are witnessing modern-day Fir‘awns, arrogant, merciless, powerful.
But just like the Fir‘awn of Prophet Mūsā (ʿalayhi as-salām), they too will drown, not necessarily in water, but in their arrogance, at the hands of the believers, and finally in the fire of Hell. Allāh says,
“So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. So see how was the end of the wrongdoers!” (Qur’ān 28:40)
What Must We Do?
We must become people like Prophet Mūsā (ʿalayhi as-salām).
People of certainty in crisis.
People of Tawakkul [reliance in Allāh] when the world panics.
People of action guided by Qur’ān, not emotion or trends.
The Ummah doesn’t just need activism. It needs faithful activism, principled, prophetic, patient.
We must:
Teach our youth the stories of Mūsā (ʿalayhi as-salām) to understand true courage.
Plan, act, resist, but with sincerity, knowledge, and steadfastness.
Trust in the decree of Allāh, not in the pace of social media or news cycles.
So believe. Stand firm. And keep walking forward.
The sea is about to split.
